Who You're Becoming: Vision Board Retreat

Saturday, January 9
10:00am – 3:30pm
Location: Sherman Zavitz Theatre
at the Niagara Falls History Museum

Reflect. Dream. Create. A guided, unhurried day to reconnect with who you are. Leave with a vision board for 2027.

Need a time of refreshing to care for you and your heart before you pour into others in 2027?

DEAR HEART-CENTERED WOMAN WITH A DREAM

Time to Reset

Maybe the dream is a book in your heart. Maybe it’s a ministry, a business, or a season of simply listening. Whatever is stirring, you are worth taking this time for yourself, to be intentional instead of swept away in life’s current.

You’ve been working hard, growing and healing. You’re not the same person you were five years ago, or even a year ago.

Things haven’t always turned out the way you planned, but you’ve seen God at work in your life and are so grateful.

Writing a book or building a dream matters to you, but it’s only part of your life. You want to live fully in your calling while still taking care of your health, your family and priorities.

This Vision Board Retreat is a sacred, interactive space for you to pause and check in with yourself and God. Instead of hyping up New Year’s resolutions or impossible goals, you get to realign your ambitions, lifestyle and desires to what matters most the coming year.

The fun part about this experience is that you never know what will unfold!

What Is a Vision Board?

My first experiences weren’t great…

2013 //
My husband and I made our first vision board together.
We were told to DREAM up big achievements, find pictures and glue them to poster board, and this would help us ATTRACT these achievements in our lives. The vision board sat on our shelf for a month, a yellow cluttered collage that looked
GAUDY. Months later, I didn’t even want those things. I threw it out.

2016 //
We attended an entrepreneurial mindset conference, where we created our second vision boards. Same instructions.
This was the year I made significant decisions in my calling to write a book and fully commit to coaching. We made huge PROGRESS in our goals, but the cluttered vision boards still felt distasteful and ended up in the trash.

2018 //
Was there a way to make a vision board that didn’t make me stressed or  nauseous, I wondered? One that felt aligned with who I was (BEING), and not as focused on what I achieved and gained (DOING)?

That’s when I tried some thing new. (–>If you like going down rabbit holes, read about it here.)

I prayerfully made a vision board that inspired me to visualize the life I felt called to and to trust God with my desires and goals. Seeing the board connected to my heart, and reminded me to walk out my roles as mom, wife, author, coach and leader, from a place of peace and confidence rather than striving.

Since then, I’ve offered numerous Vision Board Retreats, and I’ve refined my vision board process even more by centering it around a “Word of the Year”. This visual reminder has brought vitality in my prayer life and kept me steadfast in intentional growth through life’s pain, surprises and valleys.

Women keep coming back because they value the supportive and creative environment during the retreat and marvel at the results and spiritual growth they see God orchestrate in their lives.

DELIGHTFUL TESTIMONIES

Retreat Takeaways

"I just love actually stepping back and using this time as a time to reflect—something I don't know often enough. I just love this Vision Board format and I love the fact that Emily pushes us to build the vision board and not toil over it. It always takes me in a direction that's great reflection.”

“Individual words on my vision board sort of encapsulate for me who I'm becoming. They've been so accurate, and that's an encouragement throughout the year to keep on in that this season, whether this is my season to be PRESENT, or feel more SECURE or understand my IDENTITY. It's just such a beautiful experience.
Sue
"I want to do it again! Because I just found this Vision Board Retreat so helpful. Rather than trying to stumble through creating something on my own, instead, to be part of a group and have a format to follow was really helpful for me."

FAQ: Why Make a Vision Board?

Why make a vision board?

Without clarity and confidence in who we are, what lights us up and where we’re headed, it’s easy to drift. You’re meant for more than settling and just surviving life. Whether you have a dream to write a book, you’re ready to get serious about a business idea, or you want to be more intentional with your time, having a visual reminder helps you stay focused. The creative process also brings surprising clarity.

Is a “Growth Being Me” Vision Board for me?

If you get inspired by a creative exercise or appreciate imagery, pictures or quotes, you’d love this. If you choose a “word of the year” but forget it half-way through, you might appreciate the visual reminder. If you’re someone who wants to focus on achievement over growth, you may not enjoy this signature process. If you’re resonate more with words than images, you might not appreciate this process, or instead, you might include more quotes and words on your vision board.

Who has time to dream?

There’s always stuff to get done—especially heading into a new year! Sometimes making time to dream and plan seems like indulging in dessert when it’s really the meal prep. This event is a fun yet sacred way to hold space for your heart and for what’s important—beyond the distractions and the urgent. You may or may not achieve any goals you set, but whatever surprises come your way, God will always show you ways you can grow and become a more resilient version of yourself.

Already have a vision board?

Awesome! Then you’ve had a glimpse of the power of its potential! You’re welcome to join us for fresh vision in your life or in a specific area of your life you want to flourish in the coming year.

Then what?

Inspiration will only get you so far. I added a bonus session to help you process your collage and set intentional steps for transformation. Plus, we share our vision boards and hear how each person’s collage came together. There’s something special about feeling seen without judgement and encouraged.

Ready for fresh clarity and inspiration for what God wants to do in you, for you and with you?

Vision Board Stories

"There have been a number of times throughout the year when I look at the big bold letters that say “DREAM” on my vision board. I will stop to intentionally spend a moment dreaming about possibilities and my goals. It’s been a great exercise that inspires me towards future things."
Ginette | Vision Board Retreat participant
"On my 2020 vision board, I had a picture in the bottom corner. It said 'At home in the storm'. Later that year, I thought wow, how incredible. Because, though it was a very tumultuous year, I felt there was an incredible amount of peace in our home. There was this sense that we were sort of cradled and held... That was the beginning of our healing journey; it was an enormous step of faith. He was caring for us, COVID brought us all home and it was such a rich experience. It sort of fused us together in a way that we hadn't experienced because we had all been prior to that different schools and work environments every day. So, at the end of the year, to see that picture played ...Oh, wow. Pretty incredible."
Sue Broshear | Vision Board Retreat participant
Oh my goodness, what a tremendous change I've noticed in my life since the Vision Board class! The most important area that has grown is my faith and it was definitely an area that needed it. I also have become more confident in who I am and have decided to stay home (with my baby) instead of going back to work...I've also been getting outside every day and been more active (all on my vision board).
Adrienne

“Emily’s Vision Board Workshop was a great experience. I came away with a beautiful vision board which I posted on my wall by my desk so I can see it every day. It encouraged me to make those things become reality.

One of the things I included was to publish my second book. My first book took me 20 years to write. I had thought I could write my second book in one year. Five years later I still hadn’t finished writing my second book. After putting it on my Vision Board, I published it!

Another thing on my Vision Board is a hyper-allergenic puppy. I’ve wanted one for over 6 years! I finally got the cutest goldendoodle ever! I knew she would help me with anxiety and mental wellbeing, and she does!”
