My Story
Life isn’t a straight path to a destination. Somehow I skipped that life lesson when I graduated from high school — maybe you did, too. By age 22, I had tried eclectic jobs like working with special needs children, serving on a hospital ship, and housekeeping.
And if passion were any clues back then, crafting books and helping people certainly foreshadowed my future. But with no interest in a traditional career and a desire for “meaningful work” as my vague compass, it felt like someone had thrown out a map to my life.
I certainly read enough making life plans. But how the heck do you do that when you don’t know what you want? What’s the point of making a life plan if detours throw you off course?
